DAGGETT - Actor Patrick Swayze and his wife, Lisa Niemi, made a precautionary landing at the Barstow-Daggett Airport after they lost power from their plane's right engine on Wednesday.
"It's great to be back in Daggett," Swayze said. "I've flown a lot of training here."
Swayze, who has been flying for 15 years, said he flew in and out of the Daggett airport while filming the 1995 film "Tall Tale."
According to Alan Hamm, the owner of the airport, Swayze's twin-engine Cessna 414 experienced engine trouble en route from Van Nuys to New Mexico. The plane's right engine lost power, and Niemi landed the plane with only one engine.
"With a 46-knot cross-wind, she greased it," Swayze said of the landing. "We stayed totally calm and professional, like a unit in the cock-pit, and nailed it."
