Shooting suspect sought

From staff reports

BARSTOW -- Barstow police have arrested one of two suspects involved in the armed robbery and shooting of a Barstow man in December. The second suspect is still at large and police are requesting the public's help in finding him.

The wanted man is Ricky Tommy Aragon, 22, who is described as a male Hispanic, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes, weighing approximately 170 pounds. His alleged accomplice, Alexander Gamez, also 22, is currently in custody. Both were formally charged Tuesday with attempted robbery, attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang. Gamez is in custody at the Glen Helen rehabilitation center in Glen Helen on unrelated charges while Aragon should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

On Dec. 22, Craig Sullivan, 38, reported that he had gone to the Virginia Terrace Apartments at 615 E. Virginia Way to visit a friend.

In the parking lot of the complex, Sulllivan said he was approached by two Hispanic male adults, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

The armed suspect demanded money from Sullivan and when Sullivan did not give him any, the suspect shot Sullivan in his legs, police reported.

Sullivan ran from the complex to the emergency room of the Barstow Community Hospital and was treated at approximately 11:30 p.m, police reported.
